Is Skrill owned by PayPal?

Skrill was formerly known as Moneybookers established in 2001 which offers a range of online payment solutions and money transfer services. From the date of its establishment, skrill extended its business to over 120 countries and currently they offer 40 different currencies for its users.

Skrill is operated from the UK under the Federal Conduct Authority (FCA) and is owned by Paysafe and Investcorp. After acquiring MoneyBookers in 2011 its name has been changed to Skrill and since then it is operated as a subsidiary of Paysafe Group.

Paysafe Group Limited is a multinational online payments company. The group offers services both under the Paysafe brand and subsidiary brands that have become part of the group through several mergers and acquisitions, most notably Neteller, Skrill, Paysafecash, and Paysafecard.

On the other hand, Investcorp is a global manager of alternative investment products, for private and institutional clients. Founded in 1982, the firm has offices in New York, London, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Doha, Mumbai, and Singapore.
